SNOW ANGELS
There
in the new snow
we laid down
on our backs, reaching
out; our legs
spreading, the arms
moving out, up
touching the hands
at the top; knowing
how I am with you
is only to the extent
that I know you;
rolling to our sides
falling forward
in an easy grace
to love against
my parka under
your goose-bumped
bottom: creating
patterns children won’t
question and adults
will never see.
