If you step on a crack
will the very movement
of your foot

on the crack, break someone's
back. Would you play
Button-Button, Who's Got

the Button, in order to
find one button for yourself.
If, say, you found

one button and you jumped up
and down in excitement
and, without knowing it,

happened to jump on a crack,
would it break someone's
back. The window blinds

that slowly close,
like someone taking
a sequence of photos

of you in slow motion
—do you move
in yourself toward something

or away from something. Are
there words in you
we will ever hear, or

is it all one continuous
movement that neither begins
or ends
